Ditto. I've been really heartened that tweets like this are being resonded to in a measured way pointing to evidence which undermines them. A lot of the responses throughout this have been really good.

Agree on the last point @Hip re: inability to control for infection transmission. Thanks for your explanation about transmissibility, it made that point clearer for me.
I don't have the brain tthink about about this at present, and it's too way too technical for me anyway, but just had one thought about Hip's virus post:

I agree with Esther12 too, and with you. I also think that it would have been helpful if Rachel Hunter had discussed the problems with the published literature she was using and the need to find ways of moving this area of research forward onto more solid ground.
I hope this re-analysis is brought to the attention of Fiona Watts at the MRC and that she affords the same degree of respect to the authors as she does to the PACE investigators and Cochrane. In other words I hope she makes the effort to read and understand it.

Just for clarification, particularly as they've changed names with the new classification system - hypermobility EDS type 3 is now called hEDS. It has no genetic markers and isn't vascular EDS (vEDS) which does have genetic markers and is something different.
