Agree on the last point @Hip re: inability to control for infection transmission. Thanks for your explanation about transmissibility, it made that point clearer for me.

I agree with Esther12 too, and with you. I also think that it would have been helpful if Rachel Hunter had discussed the problems with the published literature she was using and the need to find ways of moving this area of research forward onto more solid ground.

I hope this re-analysis is brought to the attention of Fiona Watts at the MRC and that she affords the same degree of respect to the authors as she does to the PACE investigators and Cochrane. In other words I hope she makes the effort to read and understand it. It's excellent and timely. Thank...

Just for clarification, particularly as they've changed names with the new classification system - hypermobility EDS type 3 is now called hEDS. It has no genetic markers and isn't vascular EDS (vEDS) which does have genetic markers and is something different.
