We should remember that the research they are doing isn't on patients with ME but those treated with interferon alpha they are then trying to draw an analogy and I suspect have not done any work to validate if the analogy stands or is valid.

With such small amounts of data I'm not sure that any results will be meaningful. They use a cross validation techniques which is better than some we have seen.

I think a number of authorities have been willing to look ridiculous rather than challenge PACE. There are obviously certain power structures in place that people don't want to challenge.
