BPS attempts at psychologizing Long Covid

"Finally, what is your own view, or Dr. Saperson’s, of ME/CFS? Do you consider it a mental-health disorder? Do you consider the PACE recommendations valid? Do you approve of CBT or GET as treatments for ME/CFS? Kates declined to answer, stating only “I have nothing else to add.” I also wrote to...

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

"I feel that I have looked down the barrel of the ME/CFS gun and disarmed it". Given his career threatening public statements, perhaps he's pointing the gun at himself?

    LSD

Fwiw "The synthetic psychedelics LSD and DMT have been shown to help neurons grow in the human brain – but importantly, research shows that LSD and DMT can only boost the growth of already matured neurons, rather than growing brand new neurons."...

Hypothesis: Mechanisms That Prevent Recovery in Prolonged ICU Patients Also Underlie ME/CFS: 2021, Stanculescu, Larsson and Bergquist

Me too -- empty sella syndrome -- I kept mentioning it to doctors as a possible cause / implication in my symptoms, but was dismissed every time -- it is hard to fathom how having a flattened gland can not have an impact.

Trisha Greenhalgh on ME/CFS and Long Covid

Trish's tightness to SW explains why she was against ME patients without provocation. Thanks for sharing the extra evidence of her inappropriateness to be the physician figurehead of Long Covid patients. Her beliefs are a threat to the safety of Long Covid patients globally.

Trisha Greenhalgh on ME/CFS and Long Covid

Fwiw, I can confirm most of what Peter White wrote in his twitter thread -- I can't confirm anything after she answered the first question, I was too triggered and had to leave the webinar early to prep for a meeting. In her presentation, Trish had a long list of Long Covid symptoms but no...

Trisha Greenhalgh on ME/CFS and Long Covid

The webinar was recorded -- before it ended I messaged a request that it not be released unless Trish's assault on ME patients was edited out -- I believe I finished with something like "no use in traumatizing more people". I doubt any of it will be released.

News about Long Covid including its relationship to ME/CFS 2020 to 2021

She is being given opportunities but has not yet responded. Her defensive, I was 'set up' posturing as a victim does not portend well.

Characterizing Long COVID in an International Cohort: 7 Months of Symptoms and Their Impact, 2020, Hannah Davis et al

From the paper: "... those still experiencing symptoms at month 6 with no PEM (n = 707, 28.8%), fatigue was still the most common symptom." I suspect many of those with 'no PEM' at month 6 had learned to stay within their energy envelope so as to not trigger PEM.
