Award-winning essay of the NJME/CFSA 2017 Medical Scholar Program: "A Narrative Synthesis for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome"

The combination of these two criteria plus the very similar Oxford criteria is what was used to define the disease for much of the research hereafter.
Oxford criteria is NOT similar to CCC/ICC. :banghead:

No pathogen has been definitively linked to developing ME/CFS;2,5 no pathogen has been isolated in those patients who have active ME/CFS pathology.
Could be multiple pathogens, could be novel pathogens, could be lack of ability to detect the pathogens, etc. Our current knowledge of human pathogens, is only a fraction of the truth. (recent example - https://www.folio.ca/u-of-a-scientists-discover-a-hidden-cause-of-encephalitis)

Too much emphasis on psychological stress, when for most people the illness is triggered by a viral infection. There are a multitude of known pathogens that can cause severe illness and brain injury, so it's illogical to assume that the psychological aspect is more relevant than the pathogens.

i can't comment on the technical stuff.

it's wonderful to see medical students researching ME. :balloons::trophy@ even partial knowledge is better than the current medical abuse of ME patients.
