BBC: Long Covid course [LP] is ‘exploiting people’, says ex-GB rower, 2024, article and radio program

Verity&Science1, who describe themselves with:
“I am interested in medical and allied approaches which assist people to recover from traditionally hard to treat conditions such as ME/CFS.”

Eerily familiar..

The wording of the added paragraphs on the BBC podcast lacks neutrality big time, and frames what’s really undercover journalism as:

“She highlighted small segments of a Lightning Process course she attended after encouraging a practitioner to try to help her with long COVID though she did not have the condition.”

Omitting completely to state the fact that it was undercover journalism. Supposedly easy to correct if Wikipedia abides by its own rules.

Hi @Kalliope - is it possible you could quote the sections of this article in which the LP participant says she wasn't recovered, after telling media interviewers that she was. It's not possible for people outside of Norway to access the entire article, just the first paragraph.
.
Of course. Here are a few auto translated quotes and I've sent you the entire article on PM.

Three years ago, TV 2 News met Veronica, who had then been sleeping in a dark room for almost two years. After three days of the Lightning process, she declared herself well. Shortly after, she became unwell again.

...

- I said I was healthy, but I wasn't. I just thought I had to train myself again. I had a period where I was actually a bit out, but then I didn't get better, just worse and worse, Veronica tells TV 2 Nyheten.

...

- Actually, it's worse now than before the course. Because it gave me a period when I got a little taste of life. Now I know what I'm missing. The time now is pining, I only think about getting well and hope the doctors can give me another diagnosis or that another treatment will come up.

Veronica does not want to criticize Lightning process and points out that she uses the technique she learned there every day to keep her spirits up even though she is sick.

– I have not given up hope that I will get well even though I really had great hope before this treatment. I just think that it was not the right treatment for me. Because I not only tried LP once, but have participated in several courses.
