Before COVID19 and the lockdown:

The Chronic Illness Inclusion Project would like to know about your experiences of taking part in meetings or events from home using videoconferencing platforms like Zoom, or Skype.

For this research we are not including meetings where all participants are online, as has been happening since the lockdown. We are interested in in-real-life (IRL) meetings and events were most participants were face-to-face and you requested to join virtually, from home.

The aim of this research is to promote equality and inclusion for disabled people who are housebound, for example due to energy limiting chronic illness. We want to ensure that the kinds of digital access and inclusion we have seen during the lockdown continue for those who still need it once the lockdown ends.

Your answers will inform a guide for organisations on how to ensure disabled people who are housebound because of their health condition can participate in meetings and events as fully and meaningfully as possible from their homes and beds. This is part of a bigger project on digital exclusion and digital inclusion by HEAR Network (Human Rights and Equalities Network).
