Trial By Error: Another Letter to BMJ's Dr Godlee Last week, The Times ran an article about the open letter to The Lancet concerning the PACE trial, quickly followed by a piece in The BMJ. This morning, I e-mailed the following letter to Fiona Godlee, editor-in-chief of The BMJ and editorial director at BMJ. I cc’d officials at the Health Research Authority, some NICE stakeholders, and Carol Monaghan MP on the letter, since all have interests in the proper assessment of studies in this domain.
Thank you @dave30th. It really is time the BMJ got it house in order on all the issues you raise. As you rightly say, patients are suffering as a result of such negligence.
The astonishing and terrible thing is: they simply don't seem to give a damn. One day I think this kind of well documented behaviour will come back to haunt them; public enquiry maybe.
Yeah, that's a bit dodgy. Making it just a little harder for interested but time-poor readers to chase the letter down.
