Professor Edwards' Letter to MRC's Fiona Watt

Professor Edwards signed the open letter to The Lancet. He originally wrote his own letter to Professor Watt in confidence. Since she has now strongly endorsed PACE in her letter to The Times, he has given me permission to post what he wrote.

I'm only just finding time to catch up with all Tuller's recent blogs.

It seems significant that Edwards mentioned the problems with Cochrane's work before her recent statement on the MRC website.

    In this case: Fools Gold.

PS One day someone is going to write a book on how Cochrane was subverted to endorse bogus research. Its happening with ME and CFS, so where else is it happening?

I used to innocently believe that I could assume an effort towards accuracy and integrity in scientific research and that the results are the results. I don't anymore, and I don't trust the institutions that should be safeguarding quality anymore either. It's a sad thing.

    Politics innit :banghead:
Unfortunately a fact of life wherever money is required politics is what decides how it is allocated.
