Thank you @Russell Fleming. Your willingness to be frank about your difficulties will, I think, be very valuable to many others. So many of us have had to come to terms with losing our careers and so many other aspects of our lives. Reading of one person's journey and the help you found along the way is very helpful.

A big thanks to MEA and especially to Russ..... Have sent to my son, now 35 and has been grappling with this 21 years. You have articulated so well his predicament made worse by his being ill as a child and never finding himself and finding an identity in the adult world. He is asking how does one 'catch up'? Can he catch up?

Thank you @Russell Fleming - so much of what you write about chimed with me particularly the stress of trying to keep working when you are not really well enough. You express so well, the ongoing task of managing mental health when you have ME.

Thank you @Russell Fleming. I needed to read this today. I don't even think of counselors as they can't fix my ME. But my family is sick of my complaints/illness.

I too need to off-load to at least a fellow patient. You're so right about there being both good and bad therapists. I just need to try again. Your perspective is quite helpful!

Thanks for this, @Russell Fleming. Needs to be said, and you said it well.

I also have to deal with many of the same issues. It is no fun. :grumpy:
