I'm afraid Denise Spreag misrepresents the numerous animal rights organisations and individuals when she says "The BPS lobby has been able to stigmatise a whole group of patients as ‘militant activists’ and akin to the animal rights lobby in the level of danger they present to scientists."

The vast majority of campaigners for animal rights are peaceful! We do not pose any danger to anyone.

In fact we serve to clarify (repeatedly) that animal experiments do not represent humans, and are a vast waste of money, resources and lives.

Thank you, @MeSci, that's something I thought very often, too. Besides, if there are "militant" actions to fight for animals - or "Greenpeace" actions - I personally think it's ok.
