"Medications that have helped me recover from long COVID" Dr.Zeest Kahn

Teaching doesn't change people's habits.

What I thin you need is a law that says that a physician can prescribe medicines off label it they want to and the patient is keen, but if the medicine does not work the physician should be liable for all the patient's outgoings in relation to the treatment.

She worked as an anesthesiologist before developing LC. Then at one point in her recovery started a podcast and substack. She's one of the co-authors of the Bateman-Horne clinical guide for ME/CFS, LC and IACCs. IMO she's been going in the direction of establishing herself and making a living in that space.

She forgot to list time as one of the factors that could have influenced her recovery. I notice that factor is rarely mentioned in recovery blogs.

It made me cringe to read how she so confidently ascribed her recovery to the interventions she tried and her approach, which included 'understand[ing] the potential mechanisms' for her symptoms.

I looked at her website to see what she offers in her consultations, and she says she does not diagnose or prescribe, so I wonder what these meetings can offer anyone beyond "ask your doctor if Xolair is right for you" type advice?

"Yes. There are no FDA-approved medications for either ME or long COVID.Yes, you're gonna have to treat specific diagnoses. Yes, you're going to have to work around insurance. For now, this is how to leverage healthcare most effectively. The ride is rickety & long. Strap in."
