I'm a volunteer with MEAction but don't do much with MEPedia beyond contribute on occasion. I have a CS background so sometimes help with technical issues with the sites.

Can you tell us what caused the outages?

Sure. The auto-renewal on the domain registration didn't work so the domain expired yesterday. I think due to caching the URL worked for some people which is why it seemed like the site was up-and-down.

MEpedia is currently implementing much-needed improvements that will require intermittent downtime to install upgrades. These intermittent outages will continue for a couple of days.

One of the major goals of these improvements is to make the process of contributing to MEpedia easier for people with cognitive difficulties.

Thats good news but perhaps this message could replace the homepage which is currently a cannot be reached message.
