Summary: Fish oil supplements successfully delivered omega-3s to the brain, but a two-year study found no meaningful benefits for memory, cognition, or Alzheimer’s-related brain changes. The results challenge the idea that fish oil pills can help prevent Alzheimer’s and shift attention toward overall diet and lifestyle instead.

A large clinical trial found that omega-3 fish oil supplements failed to improve memory or slow brain change associated with Alzheimer's disease.

I think another study found a lack of the claimed benefits for heart health. I'm sure that some people can benefit from one or more supplements due to their individual physiology. The finding is that for the majority, it's not magic "Make yourself significantly healthier by buying these supplements" or "Go ahead and eat crappy processed food and not exercise, but still be healthy if you buy these supplements."
