Recovery stats post- 3 months

There are probably no directly comparable stats. There are stats from Dubbo, but that was specifically EBV and two other conditions.

Taking Dubbo and general experience about PVF I think the likelihood of being well by a year is well over 50%, possibly as much as 80-90%. I would assume recovery is likely in this situation but I would not advise anyone to try to push themselves into getting fit again until they feel completely well.

If you look at Dubbo, the relevant bit is in the first post on this thread.

For your friend's purposes, in the Dubbo study, 67% of those who were still ill at 3 months had recovered at 12 months (67-22=45. 45/67=67%).

The study didn't follow people beyond 12 months, but more would have recovered after that point.

So there is no need to worry at 3 months.

I agree with Jonathan regarding exercise. Although I did exactly what Jonathan advises above and relapsed anyway, but let's not tell your friend that just now.
