Only passing mention of Long Covid, but this thread is really something. Mainly about the (obvious from the start) airborne transmission of COVID. It shows how unfit for purpose, criminally negligent, really, the institutions of UK medicine are. It's noted that they still haven't updated the guidance yet, it's not considered airborne, hence the complete lack of protections. Even though this is a scientific question that has been in no doubt since, frankly, March of 2020 at the latest.

This probably explains a lot about why we never get anywhere, with ME/CFS or LC. Facts are simply barely relevant. It's all politics, egos and unaccountable failure all throughout the system. And although this inquiry is demonstrating this within UK medicine and its health care system, I have no doubt that the exact same things happened in every single country and every health care system and it all went the same. This is a universal problem of experts and authorities lying openly about public health matters, which has led to millions of deaths and 100M+ disabled around the world.

Can't really quote or summarize, it's very detailed and heavily backed with evidence, and also is about 100 posts long. But wow is it illuminating about how decisions made in secret behind closed doors about obvious things can completely ignore the facts and evidence and simply go with... whatever. It's hard to say why things are happening this way, especially who is driving this, why they can't even admit and repair this obvious failure. But this is a way of doing things that has no legitimacy, it's a farce. This is no way to run a freaking corner store, let alone health care. No wonder progress is so difficult to achieve in health care.

It's horrendous. Such failure to prevent transmission through stubborn refusal by key people to believe that Covid is airborne. So no FFP3 masks for hospital staff, even now and even if the know they are infected, no improvements in hospital ventilation or hepa filtration. And numbers of health workers off sick with Long Covid are really high.
