It’s that time of the year again: Now that Independent Lens has concluded another season, we need you to vote for the recipient of this year’s Audience Award. Yes you, the audience! Vote for your favorite documentary from 2017-2018’s award-winning slate of films, and this year you can pick from up to three choices. Which film will take the top prize? The deadline to vote is Friday, June 29 at 1 pm Pacific.

So without further ado, vote below (the order of films is randomized):

Pick your favorite Independent Lens films of the 2017-2018 season (Can vote for up to 3)

Unrest is in the running for this year's Independent Lens Audience Award, which honors fans’ favorite film of the PBS Show's season. CAST YOUR VOTE today to promote visibility for ME! https://to.pbs.org/2sVS8Vy

This film has become a major tool in advocating for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis visibility and health equality. Winning this award would generate not renewed interest in not only Unrest, but this extremely misunderstood disease that effects millions.

I don't think I should vote in this poll. I have not seen any of the other Independent Lens films, so how can I give a fair judgement of which one I think is the best?

They just ask you for your favourite, I voted for Unrest since that's the only one I've seen and it's indeed my favourite. :p
Otherwise you could only vote if you've seen them all to give a fair judgement.

There are some interesting sounding films in that list.

Like Trish I'm unsure about voting. I've also never watched PBS

I didn't feel bad about voting. I have not seen all the films but I have seen several - I think 5?

I do record Independent Lens on my DVR regularly. Then I look at the description of the program, maybe watch a few minutes, and decide whether I want to watch the whole thing.

My impression is that "audience favorite" awards like this are often voted on by people who have not seen all the films. The films that have the most buzz, and are spread by word of mouth, often win these votes. It's the nature of this type of poll.

But I would not want anyone to vote if they don't feel comfortable about it.
