UK Guardian: ME left me bed bound for nearly five years. A potted plant helped me rebuild my life

This. Exactly [expletive deleted] this. Funny how these articles continue insist on missing the point; why does anyone need to be trapped in a darkened room for five years?! And yet we are supposed to say "oh, isn't that nice - she can do 20mins gardening":banghead:

UK Guardian: ME left me bed bound for nearly five years. A potted plant helped me rebuild my life

Given that we always sound like conspiracy theorists anyway, doesn't the timing of these articles seem a little ...odd? Given how much Maeve's mum has been all over the news and is being taken seriously, that suddenly there is a rash of positive thinking/recovery memoirs..? I see the gruinaid...

Based on history so far, he will be the first person the NHS ask for his "expert" opinion, which is a oxymoron to start with Well he has so far... Until someone actually sees that every illness/syndrome he has successfully psychologised has been shown to have a biological explanation and he...

Guardian article on origins of CBT : I have OCD. Some cognitive behavioral therapy techniques were totally wrong for me, April 2024

It also helps with emotional dysregulation in ADHD. It combines mindfulness, assertiveness and emotional regulation skills and a bunch of other useful skills I was never taught as a kid and really could have used. But then I could also have used being diagnosed as ADHD and Autistic as a kid too...

Guardian article on origins of CBT : I have OCD. Some cognitive behavioral therapy techniques were totally wrong for me, April 2024

This article was an absolute revelation - thank you to those who spotted it. Some CBT and ACT techniques have been really helpful, and DBT was life changing, and should be taught in schools, IMO. None of those have anything to do with ME or LC though - except for the rats nest of MH issues that...
