Review JAMA - Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) A Review - Chung, Raj, 2026

Yes, we absolutely need more research on this, in both POTS and ME/CFS. We know some of the key mechanisms likely driving orthostatic intolerance, haemodynamic alterations and compensatory tachycardia, though we need more and better quality evidence. The hard part will be understanding their...

Review JAMA - Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) A Review - Chung, Raj, 2026

This is exactly what POTS is. Let's just focus on POTS. I don't follow this. What is the definable physiologic abnormality in POTS? Are you talking about the tachycardia criteria? If so, I agree that the syndrome should not be centred on this trait. We have had these conversations elsewhere...

Review JAMA - Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) A Review - Chung, Raj, 2026

You think POTS is a bogus syndrome? Why would POTS be a bogus syndrome but ME/CFS not? Or is ME/CFS a bogus syndrome too? The epidemiological evidence that POTS exists is of the same form as the epidemiological evidence that ME/CFS exists.

The abstract looks pretty reasonable to me. Good to get a review in a top journal.

A cardiometabolic perspective on [PEM] in myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) and Long COVID, 2026, Westermeier et al

Probably no peer review either judging by the dates of submission and acceptance in the above screenshot.

I agree... a whole lot of words but not much more. I was going to say that I also don't understand why this is published in Cadiovascular Diabetology, but perhaps this explains why:

United Kingdom: News from Forward-ME Group

She did, but also recovered in around a year. I wonder if it was more of a PVFS thing.

Help me name a US advocacy organization focused on ME research funding/lobbying

I wouldn't be surprised if she makes a reasonable recovery and can resume her old career. She seems to have several things in her favour from what I can tell from her videos and posts.

Help me name a US advocacy organization focused on ME research funding/lobbying

I would not be in favour of tying a name to any one person. It's a recipe for disaster.

Help me name a US advocacy organization focused on ME research funding/lobbying

What about GovFundME, a play on GoFundMe and hinting at the US '.gov' identity/nomenclature.

What to do when in PEM

This is quite similar to how I was when I first became severe a few years ago and my PEM/crash days are still like this. Do you have orthostatic intolerance? Being upright and exerting in the first few hours really does me in. Could you try breakfast in bed rather than getting up? I also...

'Recovery Is Possible: Lessons in ‘ME/CFS’ Recovery from YouTube [Goldsmiths]

Raelan doesn't care what the condition is. It's all the same thing to her. Sometimes the diagnosis isn't even explicitly mentioned. Often the interviewees are self-diagnosed. EDIT: I've also seen several videos where the interviewees got ill during covid so they call it long covid despite...

Trial Report Comparing different doses of hydrogen enriched water in a pilot randomized treatment trial in chronic fatigue syndrome, 2026, Fred Friedberg et al

There are some memes — in the old sense of the word — in the ME/CFS world that never seem to die. Hydrogen water is one of those.
