Misrepresentation of ME/CFS in Media Images: A Picture Tells a 1,000 Words. What Story Are We Telling?, 2021, McMillan et al [and 2022 update]

The wording will be different on different sites but the idea will likely be the same. I don't think this is actually good for us. There are some stock images that are high quality and would be appropriate - but the same issue could prevent their use, too.

Misrepresentation of ME/CFS in Media Images: A Picture Tells a 1,000 Words. What Story Are We Telling?, 2021, McMillan et al [and 2022 update]

An issue I hadn't been aware of concerning stock images is that part of the license may require that you don't use a photo of a model in any situation that implies a mental or physical deficit.

Will it ever be reasonably safe for PwME to go back into society, post-Covid?

Thanks, Jo, that's all very interesting. What sort of Covid prevalence would you say was 'minimal risk'? And by 'eradication' do you mean zero cases, or so few cases that it's 'minimal risk'? Given the terrible situation worldwide, I'm wondering whether herd immunity will ever get us there...

Will it ever be reasonably safe for PwME to go back into society, post-Covid?

I was vacc'ed at home for that reason. Sorry, Trish, I didn't realise - have I mucked that up?

Will it ever be reasonably safe for PwME to go back into society, post-Covid?

Sorry to hear about your experiences, @Ariel, @Invisible Woman, and @Wonko. I'm wondering how the government sees this, and epidemiologists (people like Anthony Costello). Where do they see us all headed?

Will it ever be reasonably safe for PwME to go back into society, post-Covid?

I haven't been following the news for a long time now and I'm wondering what the end-game is supposed to be - in the UK, at least - for the pandemic. I'm wondering whether it will ever be reasonably safe for a PwME to go out in public as normal again. Prevalence is so high at the moment that...

GAS (Goal Attainment Scaling in Rehabilitation), GAS-light, and gaslighting.

I was asked to set goals by a physio and refused to do it. Asking people who can't control their own recovery by their own efforts to set goals is cruel.

DecodeME - UK ME/CFS DNA study underway

Thanks, @Andy. I'm eager to start spitting in the interests of science but this data protection stuff is vital and I know the DecodeME team have been working hard non-stop to go as fast as they can. I'm very grateful for all their efforts!

Predictors of Nonseroconversion after SARS-CoV-2 Infection, 2021, Liu et al

But I wonder why a vaccine would stimulate antibody production when the virus itself wouldn't?

Dane Cook's analysis of exercise data of the CDC's MCAM study

I seem to be always barely breathing! Shallow breaths, and slow.

Predictors of Nonseroconversion after SARS-CoV-2 Infection, 2021, Liu et al

I wonder how some Long Covid patients apparently improving after vaccination might tie into this.

BPS proponents don't respond well to criticism

But I believe the sites themselves take a really dim view of that.

BPS proponents don't respond well to criticism

Actually, I would also email Bokus.com. They may take a dim view of authors demanding that customers remove bad reviews.

The biology of coronavirus COVID-19 - including research and treatments

I find it extraordinary that we're not on the risk list of having worse outcomes. Most of us got ME from a viral illness. It seems likely that we have a genetic propensity for that. So we can surely expect to do badly with Covid - and indeed, to lose more function than we already have, as you...

DecodeME - UK ME/CFS DNA study underway

DecodeME may not be able to use it as part of their returns system, but I think they should let people know about it in case people want to use it and pay for it themselves. Many people would be happy and able to do that if it meant they could take part without having to leave the house...

That sounds like a productive way forward. Would anyone like to get the ball rolling by providing links to the offending documents?
