COSIG - Collection of Open Science Integrity Guides

This seems like a good resource. I read one guide so far, 'Standard deviation versus standard error'. It's a fairly easy to follow explanation of the consequence of studies accidentally using standard error instead of standard deviation in meta-analyses. And it gives three explicit examples of...

Preprint A Proposed Mechanism for ME/CFS Invoking Macrophage Fc-gamma-RI and Interferon Gamma, 2025, Edwards, Cambridge and Cliff

Using a percentile here somewhat downplays it. On the Qeios page for these stats, it says this paper is ranked number 1 out of 8 for papers of a similar age from Qeios.

Genetics of monozygotic twins reveals the impact of environmental sensitivity on psychiatric and neurodevelopmental phenotypes, 2025, Assary et al

I tried reading the paper, and can't understand most of it. But I think the main idea is this: they're not looking for SNPs that cause these conditions. They're looking for SNPs that cause increased variation in getting the condition (in other words, SNPs that increase the influence of...

Preprint Indistinguishable mitochondrial phenotypes after exposure of healthy myoblasts to myalgic encephalomyelitis or control serum, 2025, Ryback et al

Agree with other posters - very well written and thorough. I wonder if the diagnostic criteria might be a factor. CCC in Fluge et al, but CCC and/or IOM here, so maybe the factor in the blood wasn't necessarily related to ME/CFS, but was related to a comorbidity required by CCC but not by IOM.

Deep Sequencing of BCR Heavy Chain Repertoires in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, 2025, Ryback et al

Here's an association, but this specifically is only describing healthy controls. It's a positive correlation between Vitality (SF-36) and IGHV3-23/IGHV3-30. r=0.527, q=0.039. The more they have the healthier they are, so opposite direction of the association between controls and ME/CFS in the...
