Also... He goes on to stress it needs validating experimentally.

United Kingdom: North Bristol NHS Trust: ME/CFS clinic

The foundation course is two 1hr sessions. My wife drove me to each, about 30mins away, but even then it was too much really. All subsequent sessions, which have been 1 on 1, have been over the phone. Honestly, if they can provide the support online instead (or as well as) in the future then I...

United Kingdom: North Bristol NHS Trust: ME/CFS clinic

I've partaken in the Foundation course at NB, in person, during 2019. It was of limited benefit to me (having lived with ME since 2016) but I can see how it would be helpful to people who are just starting on a 'journey' with ME. I had a thread on it somewhere, where I recorded my thoughts...

MUS: Shaky Evidence, Shaky Practice - Talk by David Tuller in Sheffield. 2:30pm 16th March 2020

Good luck with the IT wizardry! And fair play to you for finding a solution for holding the event in the face of a rather unprecedented obstacle.

Permanent Health Insurance - almost time to apply

Some rough calculations show that any chronic ill health or incapacity retirement is unlikely to 'pay' more than my PHI (I'm >20yrs off NRD). So I'm hoping that I'm successful with that. Or that I can convince work to find me a part time, mainly work from home, role with hours I can manage...

UK: All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on ME news, 2020 onward

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you @Cinders66. I must admit, despite pestering my GP to attend, I don't really know much about APPG's and how much 'power' they have. If they can't enable some action then it is pointless. But not knowing I'm tending to err on the side of British pessimism...

    Use of antidepressants for/with ME/CFS?

Had an appointment with the GP last week, she was great as usual. Have agreed to try the ami-stuff again as my sleep is awful, and to stick to it for a couple of months (unless any serious side affects of course). She has also prescribed me some beta-blockers to help manage the heart rate...

UK: All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on ME news, 2020 onward

I think there's quite a step from an APPG agreeing that there's a need for something and it actually happening though. I agree that it sounds promising but I'm not getting my hopes up too much.

    Research news from Bhupesh Prusty

The thing that gets me hopeful about Prusty's work is that tie up with the 'something in the blood' discoveries that others had made. Although it's not direct validation they're finding things that seemingly tie up. I hope there's a collaboration in the offing. I know that Prusty has tweeted...

    Research news from Bhupesh Prusty

@butter sorry you are so bad. Thank you for telling us a but about Bhupesh. He certainly comes across as sincere to me, good to hear that people who've had 'non-twitter' contact with him think so too. I think he's made it clear there is no 'quick win' in his tweets, but it's nice to have a...

Explosion of Facebook adverts for pain apps

If you see one then report it to Facebook. I've done similar in the past for a financial scam. Can't remember the options but it's easy with drop down menus. For the one I reported previously Facebook got back to me and confirmed that it'd been blocked. Surely these ads can't stand up to query?

Permanent Health Insurance - almost time to apply

Thank you for the warnings. Sorry to hear you had such a battle. I'm not sure I can face such a fight! Am carefully wording the forms at the moment. Fingers crossed.

Permanent Health Insurance - almost time to apply

An update: I had a meeting (on the phone) with OH last week. They were very supportive, and sent me their report to review before it was sent to HR and my manager. BAsically stating that I'm in no state to return to work, and that I'm not likely to be anytime soon. They're going to talk to...

Robert Naviaux' Lab - News - from 2019 onwards

It would be good to get clarification on that @Andy . Apart from being able to exercise you could say that I had 'recovered' until something triggered this relapse at the start of 2019, so I'm intrigued by what they mean. I must admit that I find the 'something in the blood' findings from...

UK Action: Ask CCGs to buy MEA Purple Books for GP Surgeries

I did the same for South Gloucestershire and got a positive response. I also tweeted all the others in the SW, during MEAwarenessHour, but have not had any responses. Was thinking of emailing them individually instead.
