I was thinking about this some more and in addition to what I wrote before: The consequences for people with ME; ME being classified on the NHS under 'Medically Unexplained Symptoms'. Patients with ME (contrary to what the proponents of 'Medically Unexplained Symptoms' would have us believe)...

    Advertising of alternative therapies

I've got a reflexology 'chart' somewhere, it was included with a pair of insoles I bought decades ago. It was a very new agey thing. Who was it that said being in support groups leads to poor outcome?

In the UK, it is not common for people to take out health insurance. People usually have it either as part of a company package or tied to their mortgage on their house. Unless people were in these schemes to begin with it is highly unlikely that they would then try to independently seek to...

Who was it that said being in support groups leads to poor outcome?

Not sure I understand the chart completely (what are the figures in brackets?), but there are so many variables in the whole issue of benefits and insurance in this country that could affect the figures. Income benefits are means tested, so people on them are probably in a worse financial state...

From what I have read I think they 'created' PPS as they thought it would be 'more acceptable' to patients than MUS, MUPs. The ultimate aim, I guess, is to save money, under the guise of 'Integrated Care'. Unfortunately, what they don't seem to realise is this will just lead to...

(Note this and excerpt in previous post is from 2005) Sharpe does go on to say: " At present however if one has an ambiguous condition the rational choice may well be to vote ‘‘medical’’ rather than to vote ‘‘psychiatric’’. From this view point one may argue that it is not the views of those...
