Simon Wessely Didn't Want His e-Mail On A Blog - Here It Is on Hole Ousia

Yes. A clique of empire builders seeing their dreams of empire crumbling before their eyes. Truth being the weapon they have no real defence against; bluster no longer working for them.

Sink ... ? https://www.bmj.com/content/358/bmj.j4305 Maybe with his sign off as "Sink" he was expressing further despair at yet more transparency putting the rights of patients before the 'rights' of his own patience?

I see they also cite NICE's CG53 without any hint it is in the process of being completely overhauled.

David Tuller: Trial By Error: My Letter to Parliament’s Science and Technology Committee

Quite so. They always got away with it before the modern age of social media, but now it's not so simple.

David Tuller: Trial By Error: My Letter to Parliament’s Science and Technology Committee

I think they are trying to feel their way here. They know they are screwed, but can't suss (or at least agree amongst themselves) what they should best do. So in true British style when faced with such a conundrum ... they choose to do nothing.

Michael Sharpe skewered by @JohntheJack on Twitter

Very much so, when I observe my wife. It's like a knackered rechargable battery that a) Cannot deliver the current it is supposed to, b) cannot hold anything like the charge it is supposed to, and c) takes much longer to charge to that much lower level, than a good battery would take to fully...

Michael Sharpe skewered by @JohntheJack on Twitter

As a lay person to me "exercise intolerance" sounds like a term people (me included once upon a time probably) will apply to folk who just can't be arsed to exercise. 'Intolerance' is a very subjective word, and colloquially can simply mean "can't be arsed". The post exertion thing is also a...

What research do you want to see? (study ideas)

I would be interested in any research into possible correlations between ME and food intolerance/allergies, hay fever, asthma, eczema, etc.

David Tuller: Trial By Error: BMJ Still "Looking Into" Lightning Process Paper

"we have received clarifications from the authors" - hmmm, that will be a first.

    Documents from the SMILE trial

James Coyne commented on this last Sept ... https://jcoynester.wordpress.com/2017/09/27/parents-should-have-been-warned-about-unprofessional-providers-in-esther-crawleys-smile-trial/ But note this does not itself clarify/confirm if the LP given to children does apply such secret-harbouring...

    Documents from the SMILE trial

I wouldn't go that far by any means, but I think there might be some common elements. One possibility being isolation of 'victims' away from people who might otherwise provide sanity checks on what was happening to them.

    Documents from the SMILE trial

Aren't they also told to not reveal 'secrets' about the Lightning process itself, else it won't work? I think I heard that somewhere? But someone would have to double check.

Submission to the Scottish Parliament by Jonathan Edwards

Hi @Lucibee? I think so far as my comment went you have really got the wrong end of the stick. I was speaking of editors generally, and most certainly not about you specifically ... I'm sorry but I really didn't have you in mind at all when I made that comment. Why on earth would you be thinking...

Submission to the Scottish Parliament by Jonathan Edwards

Thanks :). When he was explaining to us why he could not get involved supporting Carol Monaghan's debate (because that would impinge on the Health Secretary's area of responsibility), I assumed it was just a passing comment when he said along the lines of "It would be different of course if I...

Submission to the Scottish Parliament by Jonathan Edwards

I have had very little dealings with editors, but I once sent a letter to a magazine that was published, which included a gentle comment to a dealership I had used. The letter as published made it sound like an outright insult to them. I got them to then reprint my unedited letter in the next...

Submission to the Scottish Parliament by Jonathan Edwards

Good, then I shall send it to my MP along with mine and my wife's congratulations to him on his new appointment as Health Secretary :), as part of my ongoing endeavours to help him understand the fundamentals; I'll leave it to others for the more technical stuff. Following on from our meeting...

I was going to ask this. I'm OK with placebo-controlled, but realise I don't understand dummy-controlled.
