2022 Guardian: "How to move: exercising with chronic fatigue syndrome" and related articles

Untapped market, as no one else has anything, and hopefully all of us megarich pwME can be persuaded to open our gold and jewel reserves.

    Brain fog, cognitive dysfunction

Tumbleweed - without the tumbleweed. (of course there are 'degrees' within that - there are more than several types of brainfog - but they all, broadly speaking, have roughly the same effect on thought as being smacked in the head by a train. I speak from experience, having been smacked in the...

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

Curry's have always been like that, so was one if their competitors, who went out if business a few years ago. Basically they operate a you bought it, it's yours, why would we buy it back policy.

    Flat sheets versus fitted sheets

Yep, ones that don't fit, ones that really don't fit, ones that wrench every muscle in my trunk and yet...don't fit, but too broken to even remove it, so..it'll have to do. Many different sizes, all of which don't fit anything remotely resembling a modern mattress. and then there is kingsized...

    Sugar

Speaking as someone who is not a dietician, or a doctor, or even a hospital porter, a problem is 'free sugars', which all added sugar tends to be. But....an awful lot of things these days that do not have added sugar also contain high amounts of 'free sugar', like fruit juices. These are, for...

UK Dr Anna Chellamuthu, GP and Lightning Process practitioner, and her article in a GP journal

I'm all for a slightly different/older version of this approach. I will write down the amount of money needed, not just for LP but for transportation, a carer, and the month long hotel stay afterwards before I am well enough to travel again. This I will do, and put the piece of paper in my...

Do Nothing: How To Break Away From Overworking, Overdoing, and Underliving

It's 'worse' than that. Peasants used to work when there was work to do, only. So, as well as a more relaxed attitude when working, they mostly only worked half the year, and took long meal breaks, including breaks to sleep during the day. They also, apparently, got to eat 5000 kcal a day...

    Stellate Ganglion Block treatment

Even assuming that the brain plays absolutely no part in initiating the fight or flight 'reflex' then surely this 'reflex' isn't entirely composed/contained in the nervous system but also has other components, like hormones. I think that the hypothesis and it's proposed mechanism is 'unlikely'.

    Stellate Ganglion Block treatment

I find the hypothesis confusing. Where, in the body below the 7th spinal vertebra, do they think the fight or flight 'reflex' comes from? Coz they must think it's somewhere other than the brain, or blocking its path to the brain would be pointless.

    Spontaneous bruises/mystery bruises

When more active I have a tendency to get covered in bruises, both on legs and arms/hands, sometimes other places. I have always put it down to walking into things or unnoticed accidents. I also have a load of shallow scratches on my back, which I think are caused by soft cotton shirts. The...

Advice on mask-wearing to protect against Covid-19

Possibly I meant the type of masks that almost everyone is wearing? Either basic fabric masks bought from ebay/amazon or 'surgical' masks that have no medical certification.

Advice on mask-wearing to protect against Covid-19

But surely reminding people they were in a pandemic, was a significant part of the point of masks? As it's been established that they don;t really protect the wearer, and are marginally better than air at protecting others - the whole point was so other people would see a mask, and stay away...

BPS attempts at psychologizing Long Covid

Nice of them look into this. I have long thought that such people, departments could really help people. Of course they may not like being custard pie targets, but that would just show their determination to help improve lives.

Advice on mask-wearing to protect against Covid-19

But....surely there is no need, as its been established that bad things only happen to bad people, far far away. So absolutely no need to make sensible decisions at home.

Government and Insurance companies - establishing the BPS model

I was claiming benefits, and attended assessments and several of the 'training courses' over that period and the 'reforms' were in my opinion simply a way of redistributing public money to their cronies for doing nothing useful. and of course there was the other side, the 'work placements'...

    UK NICE 2021 ME/CFS Guideline, published 29th October - post-publication discussion

Do you mean the type of circularity that's been happening in ME research for the last forever? and still seems to be happening, despite the new GL?

My opinion on the topic “angry posts by patients on social media are harmful and something should be done about it”

I show my total distane of social media by never using it. I think that social media is getting the message :sneaky:

I've done my own study, N=1. Ginseng, 3 different types if memory serves, provides no non transitory benefits.
