Eran Segal (Solve grantee): Personalised microbiome-based diets for blood glucose regulation

I think that's what the book is about, @Trish - how to do that. Here's the blurb from Amazon: There are certain things we take as universal truths when it comes to dieting and health: kale is good; ice cream is bad. Until now. When Dr Segal and Dr Elinav published their ground-breaking...

Eran Segal (Solve grantee): Personalised microbiome-based diets for blood glucose regulation

I don't know how to make a judgement on it. Whether the number is too small or is adequate will depend on all sorts of things (the number of variables being measured, the strength of the underlying correlations, etc.). The proof will be in the resulting model's predictive power, I suppose...

Unrest available worldwide today on Vimeo and iTunes

I thought it was superb. I agree about the science, especially as the science is in such flux at the moment. Best just to focus on how incredibly shit this disease is, and the serious problems with how patients have been treated. Incredibly brave and generous of Jen and Omar to show themselves...

The book, which is called 'The Personalized Diet: The revolutionary plan to help you lose weight, prevent disease and feel incredible', is coming out on 26 December. In Israel, people can get analysed for free as part of the research, if I've understood that correctly...

Eran Segal: Antibody reactivities against autoantigens & the microbiome in ME/CFS (grant)

Worth having individual threads for the five teams receiving Solve's Ramsay Awards, I think - Eran Segal is new to ME/CFS (I think) and very interesting (see this other thread). Details of his project here: http://solvecfs.org/2017-ramsay-award-program-team-5/ which concludes (broken up for...

For some reason, the direct link won't work but if you go here: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/turning-straw-gold and click the link from that page, it works. Do you want to edit your original post, @Cheshire?

6&7 Nov: Cochrane wants patients' views in tweetchat to make 2018 conference relevant, accessible

Who could we suggest as speakers (with their permission, of course)? David Tuller? Julie Rehmeyer?

6&7 Nov: Cochrane wants patients' views in tweetchat to make 2018 conference relevant, accessible

This looks like a good opportunity to get a voice in relation to Cochrane reviews, which affect us all (especially BPS-proponent-produced reviews of the efficacy of GET & CBT). There'll be a one-hour live tweetchat session on each day. http://www.evidentlycochrane.net/cochraneforall-tweetchat/...

I think that deserves its own separate thread, @Esther12. :)

Cochrane invites 'citizen scientists' to identify and summarise randomised controlled trials

I'd hoped that Cochrane's invitation to be a 'citizen scientist' was a bit exciting than this: http://crowd.cochrane.org/index.html But thought I'd mention it. Are there ME/CFS RCTs missing from the database?

What's coming up? Conferences, webinars, publications, etc.?

Thanks, @Andy. Would it be a good idea to start a new thread, giving that info you just posted? The calendar is a bit counter-intuitive (if you go to it and click 'submit', nothing happens.
