A pilot self-advocacy program by Awareness for POTSies

Module 2, which I've just raced through to get the gist, describes itself as the first module of the self advocacy program. It seems to be pretty sensible stuff about being assertive not aggressive, self compassion, verbal and non verbal communication, self advocacy can be difficult and take...

A pilot self-advocacy program by Awareness for POTSies

I signed up and have read the first module. The topics covered are: What the acronym stands for Common POTS myths, and explanations why they are wrong. The myths listed include that POTS is rare, you have to faint to be diagnosed, it's only young females, and your blood pressure drops when you...

A pilot self-advocacy program by Awareness for POTSies

It sounds like there are two different things going on here. The Concept of ME/CFS

There is extensive and inconclusive discussion of alternative names on this thread: The use of the labels ME, CFS, ME/CFS

    The Concept of ME/CFS

I'm also unsure about singling out physios and clinical psychologists as professions which uncritically follow theory based treatments. The Concept of ME/CFS

Then maybe change the heading from summary something more accurate. I think a lot of readers will look for a summary to read first to find out what the article is about. Or maybe add a sentence that reinforces that for clinicians the key is not to act on the basis of theory, but on the basis of...

    The Concept of ME/CFS

I don't think the summary should include concepts not already covered. I think these paragraphs should be earlier in the article. A summary would, I think, draw out the key points from the whole article. _______________- A very worthwhile article, thank you.

    The Concept of ME/CFS

Paragraph 1 should be UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) https://www.nice.org.uk/ ______________ A good summary of the effect on symptoms. Do you think you need to expand this to include that the exertion that triggers it is slight, and that PEM includes loss of...

Herbal extract (Cervus elaphus Linnaeus, Angelica gigas Nakai, and Astragalus membranaceus Bunge) ameliorates chronic fatigue:... 2024 Ahn et al

Alot of the differences are very small, and they don't seem to have corrected for multiple comparisons. I doubt most are clinically significant. This is about chronic fatigue, not ME/CFS.

UK Government ME/CFS Delivery Plan consultation

@Maat, I have no idea whether the Cochrane review has been used by the RCP to support their comments. It was published on 2/10/19, so was available.
