Michael Sharpe skewered by @JohntheJack on Twitter

That's sort of the point I was trying to make, but not well enough, about wasting £5 million of taxpayers money on something the 'researchers' involved didn't even know how to measure in any meaningful/objective way. Rather than being a 'great, great trial' or 'a thing of beauty', it was more...

Michael Sharpe skewered by @JohntheJack on Twitter

If you "can't measure an underlying condition", how the heck can you run a trial on it? Am genuinely baffled. ETA: I'm no scientist but I can't see how £5 million of taxpayers money was justified being spent on something you can't even measure.

Oh my, that's hilarious. I love someone's reply to Sharpe in that thread: "Watch the video", ha ha.

Michael Sharpe skewered by @JohntheJack on Twitter

Wow, that is truly disgraceful. I'm really sorry you and co-authors were subjected to such an unprofessional and offensive rant. Plus, who does he think he is, to ask "Dr Wilshire and Dr Geraghty – do you have any clinical training and experience?" and to question the credibility of your...

Video: The PACE trial: a short explanation, Graham McPhee

Love this video and its simplicity in explaining some of the ridiculous things wrong with PACE. Have just Tweeted it; I'm not much of a presence on Twitter and have only a few followers but hopefully they will pass it along too.

Michael Sharpe skewered by @JohntheJack on Twitter

Oh my gosh, when I said a couple pages back that I wondered if Sharpe would even tell someone of Godwin's stature to 'read the paper', I was just joking around. But now he has actually told Godwin exactly that! And even more amusingly, the link Sharpe gave doesn't work, it leads to a 'This...

Mr Sharpe is unhappy with Mr Godwin's comment about the PACE trial. (Will Sharpe tell Mr Godwin that he should 'read the paper', as Sharpe always thinks everyone critical of the PACE trial hasn't done?)

Children’s views on research without prior consent in emergency situations: a UK qualitative study, 2018, Woolfall et al (including Crawley)

Twitter is a weird place. I only joined recently just to follow the latest news in science developments re ME, have only made about 6 or 7 tweets, mostly just supportive comments or to thank a few journalists or researchers for their work. I mainly just Like or Re-Tweet. Yet I found myself...

Sharpe has been retweeting numerous Feynman quotes recently - the irony of their insightful content being retweeted by someone like him is just staggering! :jawdrop:

Thanks @Rosie and @Inara, looks like we'll be waiting indefinitely then!

Free nasal microbiome test/study at uBiome

Has anyone ever heard back from these people? My kit still says 'Pending' on their website, after their having recieved my kit back in January! As I live outside the US, the postage for the kit was quite expensive, and I feel like I've wasted money which I can ill afford. The only contact...

A song for ME: Blowin' in the wind

Wow, that is so beautiful, both the music and images, and the quotes used. So very touching, it brought tears to me too. Wonderful job.

A couple-based psychological intervention for chronic fatigue syndrome [In progress, April 2018]

TBH, the knitwear lady would probably do just as well (especially if she wears one of her own blue cardigans while carrying out the therapy). In your link, it shows that Dr Cuddy is at Kings College London. It appears that despite PACE's failure at providing any objective evidence of CBT as...

A couple-based psychological intervention for chronic fatigue syndrome [In progress, April 2018]

This idea sounds incredibly lame and not-thought-out (as is usual with this sort of thing). I haven't heard of Dr Marion Cuddy, their primary contact. Does she have any experience/previous track record with ME/CFS? Yes, this! Almost tempting (but not enough), LOL.

    USA - Mayo clinic

It's a shame, it's a cute video that looks like much enthusiasm was put into it, but yes, it is totally wrong and I do care that some students made a video that misunderstands what ME/CFS is. It's out there on YouTube in the public domain for all to see, and the message anyone who happens...

Leonard Jason wants ME/CFS patients to do a PEM survey

Just finished it, thanks for the link! It's good to be able to take part in ME/CFS research that doesn't require one to be living in America and/or to have to travel - hope they get a lot of international response and that the survey results will be helpful for their research.
