All events about ME should now be virtual

They won’t be able to meet face to face for months if not years so that mingling will have to be done virtually. Recordings are important and should always be done but it doesn’t allow active participation which should be available for people who are able to take part in that way.

All events about ME should now be virtual

I’ve made this point regularly over the last couple of years that ME organisations should be taking a lead on running events that do not force people to be either physically present to be able to participate or excluded. Now the healthy people involved in the ME community are restricted as...

Question: Coronavirus & home sewn masks?

As soon as I read Chalders name my eyes automatically roll. You just know it’s going to be more of the same BUMF

The Steph show channel 4 U.K.

Steph McGovern is starting a new lunchtime show on channel 4 from her home. I believe she has been asking people to contact her. She was pretty good when she did the BBC breakfast interviews for Unrest. Came across as open minded. It could be worth people with ME who have blogs/involved in...

NICE ME/CFS draft guideline - publication dates and delays 2020

Pity but understandable. I suppose the current circumstances at least mean new people won’t be attending GET sessions in person - hopefully not online/phone either.

Question: Coronavirus & home sewn masks?

I don’t know anything about sewing but how about adding a pocket that vacuum filter or kitchen roll could be placed in and then removed to be binned before the mask is washed?

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

Absolutely - with football matches you queue up to get in and are patted down by security then you go through very tight turnstiles which are made of metal and have to be pushed to get through. Then straight into the crowded concourse where the food and drink is served basically like walking...

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

Right. When I was outside Kings Cross St Pancras at 9 am on 7/7 the guy with the high viz and the megaphone wasn’t saying ‘please could you very kindly avoid the area’ he was saying ‘leave the area immediately!- walk North‘ nobody was under any illusions about the seriousness of the situation.

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

I’m having some painting done on the outside of my house on Monday. Stood on the drive talking to the painter he’s able to do it then due to indoor jobs being cancelled. Thinks it might blow over in a couple of weeks. I felt unable to let it go so I pointed out we are 2 weeks behind Italy on...

NHS England now lists ME (not CFS) under neurological conditions but puts it in potentially unhelpful category

It would be good if there were PWME Nurses able to get involved with advocacy and tackling the training aspect like Nina Muirhead is doing with the Doctors. Nurses for ME like physios for ME are doing.

NHS England now lists ME (not CFS) under neurological conditions but puts it in potentially unhelpful category

May not be perfect but when it then comes to practical stuff like getting surgeries to give flu jabs, applications for blue badges from people who don’t get PIP, being on a list like this could make it more difficult for bureaucracy to reject requests from PWME.
