    Orthostatic Hypertension

If you don’t mind me asking how come this has been tested- was it at your instigation or did a doctor ask for the tests? I think I’ve probably got this but never bothered raising it with Drs as it seems there’s nothing other than hypertension meds which I’m already taking

Old fashioned biomedical approach says the man promoting the health benefits of jumping on a piece of paper and shouting stop :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:

Permanent Health Insurance - almost time to apply

As well as understanding the process and criteria for claiming on your insurance policy you need to make sure you understand the process of leaving your employer. Important not to resign voluntarily. The employer will be dismissing you grounds of Ill health in which case they may make a...

Updates on status of ICD-11 and changes to other classification and terminology systems

Yes wot @Simon M said. I’m afraid the detail in the classifications seems overwhelming to my brain. I used to be quite good at working through detailed content like this but ME has affected my ability to concentrate enough to take it in properly.

David Tuller - Trial By Error: CBT Provides No Benefits to Advanced Cancer Patients, Study Finds

Good point @Mithriel and it’s telling that they had to give extra training beforehand. Would have thought this client group deserve fully trained counsellors who can adapt to provide a suitable approach rather than CBT. I suspect what they got was better than my sausage machine experience of...

International: IACFS/ME - International Association for CFS/ME, IACFSME

Maybe I’m being excessively cynical today but has anyone in the whole field achieved anything yet that’s worthy of an awards ceremony at a gala dinner?

United Kingdom: Science Media Centre (including Fiona Fox)

Well that could be positive although presumably some journalists will have kept copies. Also maybe they still add similar information as background notes to press releases.

UK CFS/M.E. Research Collaborative [CMRC] conference, 10th and 11th March 2020

That programme definitely looks to be a significant improvement over previous years

ME/CFS services in the United Kingdom

That would be great but anyone who takes a different stance will surely be weeded out in the recruitment process.

UK Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) project - draft website goes live, feedback sought on recruitment plan, and updates

I’m trying to be open minded and not throw the baby out with the bath water but this is making me twitchy. I’m happy to give my dna and data for this research. I would be happy for it to be used for future work by the biobank team or others doing biomedical research. The prospect of some of...

UK Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) project - draft website goes live, feedback sought on recruitment plan, and updates

I would expect there will definitely be desert areas if it’s mainly dependent on local groups because there are areas like mine where seemingly there isn’t any type of formal or informal grouping. A map like this could help me in trying to gain allies among the voluntary sector for setting up...

UK All Party Parliamentary Group being reactivated - 2020

Presumably. Did you find anything that mentions whether members of the government can take part in APPGs @Sly Saint i couldn’t see anything in the document. But there could be a convention like there is on front benchers not signing Early Day Motions.

Well known people reported to have Lyme Disease.

@Kalliope it’s supremely ironic that Vogt is talking about pseudoscience when he is such a zealot for LP ultimate pseudoscience
