UK CMRC 2018 Conference Dr Nina Muirhead

I think Newton is in Newcastle. Used to be referral for some Scots - harder to achieve these days and a long journey. I don' t know if Bansal has retired from private practice - i know of some who have done this route both in person and via Skype He is seemingly a very understanding and...

UK CMRC 2018 Conference Dr Nina Muirhead

I picked up his name from one of the slides. There are very few NHS consultants for ME who would prescribe antivirals and B12 injections .

Doctors are surprisingly bad at reading lab results. It’s putting us all at risk.

Yes, we have had low end of ferritin ( and therefore RBC parameters) , phosphate, other movement edging towards high TSH, glucose rising , but everything is normal so what' s the issue. There seems to be no thought that not everyone will be within " normal" parameters.

Sadly not doing dairy makes things a lot harder.

Updates on status of ICD-11 and changes to other classification and terminology systems

Thank you for your resolute determination and work. You will be sorely missed. It takes a particular type of thought process to stay on top of the myriad of changes and their impact, sadly mine is too tangential for duch a process. I hope you have lots of things to look forward to do ( i can'...

VegEpa - Fish Oil Swizz or Worth Trying?

I do know of some kids this has helped - they were not severely affected. It is a high dose (8 capsules / day for teenagers) and done at this level for up to 3 months. Like most things this improvement did not last for all. To process these you need sufficient cofactors ( b12, magnesium etc )...

    speech to type app?

Thank you for the suggestions. I' ll check these out. I know that my stepbrother will be limited to linking up a phone/ dictaphone whilst carrying out the survey to link up with a pc/ tablet at home. He is a totally " apple" person My daughter is more flexible as it could be phone or laptop...

    speech to type app?

This post seeks to find if anyone has a decent apple and / or andorid app for speech to type. The reasons for this are twofold My stepbrother had a horrendous head injury years ago, and whilst he has made a remarkable recovery, the partial lobotomy necessitated for pressure reduction has induced...

Berkeley Wellness: When Medical Symptoms Are Dismissed as "All in Your Head" (David Tuller interviews Maya Dusenbery)

Perhaps your own advice to Chris Ponting to consider male and females separately is relevent on this thread. The fact that it seemed necessary as a suggestion is important. Statistical significance for many things may be lost in a larger group. If data was mined, what more could be found for...

Children with ME, schools and the problems of FII diagnosis

Stuart Murdoch (of Belle and Sebastian)

I was not at this ( sent shoes and tuned into the live facebook stream) @Emsho was directly involved. It did look fantastic and the mass lie down at the end was particularly effective.

Children with ME, schools and the problems of FII diagnosis

When it gets to this level, i cannot understand why charities do not have a network of credible ( to authorities) advocates to deal with this basic level of misunderstanding. I know Tymes Trust does make a huge difference, but volunteers working pro bono can only resource so much. If my...

Jarred Younger confirms neuroinflammation in brains of ME patients

If you have low basal temperature, as lots of PwME have, would a" normal" temperature represent inflammation? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Children with ME, schools and the problems of FII diagnosis

@Tilly, The international pediatric primer has a good section on POTS, a decent section on education and info on misdiagnosis of school phobia etc . It would be worth printing off a few copies. I will be thinking of you on Friday It is the classic double bind - say too much and you are FII ...
