Of course we should evaluate this paper on its merits, while being aware this is ‘Fitspiration’ Fatt who co-authored a paper on the need for more biopsychosocial research into ‘chronic fatigue’ with Prof Andrew Lloyd.

Yes. They are...not great.
They receive government funding for staffing but only do support not advocacy. The support is only for mild and moderate people who can attend meetings. They can’t help with suggesting a GP or local services.
I met with local government to suggest their funding go...

Abstract
Mitochondrial stress contributes to a range of neurological diseases. Mitonuclear signaling pathways triggered by mitochondrial stress remodel cellular physiology and metabolism. How these signaling mechanisms contribute to neuronal dysfunction and disease is poorly understood. We find...
So impressed with ME Awareness NZ’s work.
The latest Stuff article from Carrie Coddington is especially good: powerful and resonating with a lot of people even here in Aus.
Especially appreciate the media coverage showing the severity and longevity of ME, (avoiding the all-too-common ‘this is...
Hi @carbonis.dentes
Would you like me to send you the information ME Australia provided to the NDIS about permanency that we sent after our meeting with them? This was a key topic discussed with them.
Here’s more about the meeting if you are interested...
The NHMRC CEO has just released her response to the report.
I’ve provided context and history on her main points:

Moderator note: merged thread
In a hearing today, Senator Steele-John asked NHMRC CEO how they would screen out studies that look for psychological causes when assessing grant applications.
Grant applications opened today (23 Oct 2019) for $3m in government funding announced earlier this year...
Bit different: short-term government-appointed committee and was only about developing a report for government. Had a few CBT/GET proponents on it and some of the others had little relevant experience.
I wrote about the make-up of the committee if you are interested...
A few people have reported that they made submissions to the NHMRC (Australia) on the draft advisory committee report, but their submission is missing from the list published on the NHMRC website. Has this happened to your submission?
I asked Prof Fisher about this and he said people can self-diagnose then they will be looking for those who meet CCC:

So good to see them asking for CCC or ICC criteria, especially after we were petitioning them back in 2016 about funding Lloyd’s CBT/GET training trials and the dodgy Xbox study.

Recently food is tasting too sweet. Vegetables taste like they’ve been coated in sugar. Making eating more difficult.
My basic research hasn’t found much except it could be related to hypothyroidism (which is being treated) and neurological. Any pointers on research, or anyone else experience...
It’s good. I’d suggest taking out ‘and around the world’ out of the first line. Giving the impression NZ is lagging might be more effective than admitting the rest of the world aren’t doing much, because then people might think “ah well, if the rest of the world isn’t bothered, why should we...
