If an effective treatment comes along for ME/CFS, how can we physically rehabilitate ourselves?

The US Military several years ago did a study on deconditioning. They had a couple of men completely bedbound for a couple of months. After the study ended they were unable to support their own weight when standing. Within two weeks of the study ending they were able to go about their normal...

Impacts of the 2024 change in US government on ME/CFS and Long Covid

I'm not against them cleaning up food and getting rid of the ultra-processed foods. It's estimated that 75% of disease is preventable and eating poor quality food is at the top of the list.

Was there a gap between trigger and onset of your ME/CFS?

I had a cold that wouldn't go away and lasted for six months, however, I attribute my ME/CFS to the antibiotics that I was put on. Three days after starting on the antibiotics I woke up that morning feeling the best I had in almost a year, and then that evening I was hit with the worst...

Alcohol Intolerance poll. Please do the poll even if your answer is no.

Ever since menopause I get the facial flushing and that is from just one drink.

Alcohol Intolerance poll. Please do the poll even if your answer is no.

I didn't have heat intolerance until menopause. Now it is my unwanted friend who won't go away.

Alcohol Intolerance poll. Please do the poll even if your answer is no.

If Sophia had a high BMI then it's not surprising that she had a fatty liver as being overweight is apparently an almost given that you will have a fatty liver as fat stores in the liver first and then elsewhere in the body.

Alcohol Intolerance poll. Please do the poll even if your answer is no.

The fastest growing health condition in North America today is "non-alcoholic fatty liver disease". Apparently this is something new as in the past fatty liver disease was usually only found in alcoholics. It is caused primarily from a poor diet high in sugar (including glucose from white...

    Do You Sleep Better When...

I take Trazodone for sleep and I don't feel any better for it the next morning. I get a good night's sleep, however, the unrefreshed feeling is still there and I am constantly "exhausted" throughout the day.

Hoarse raspy voice- how and why?

I had the same experience with six different ENTs and six CT scans. They never saw anything that concerned them on the CT scans even though they could see that my sinuses were swollen when they made the appointment. By the time I had the CT scans, the problem would resolve itself. It wasn't...

Hoarse raspy voice- how and why?

Is it possible that you have respiratory reflux (also known as Silent reflux)? It can cause hoarseness that comes and goes.

    The Born Free Protocol

This to my way of thinking is a huge red flag. Anytime a protocol can cure or help with this many health conditions, I know I'm reading a load of BS. I would have thought that by 2024 we would have moved past this type of nonsense when it comes to ME/CFS. A person would have to mortgage their...

Melinda Gates resigns from Gates Foundation

I totally agree that "Unrest" would not be the film to recommend when advocating about ME/CFS. The whole time I watched the film it didn't sound like she was describing the same illness that I have or anyone else in this group. Just my opinion of course.

Poll: What is your most disabling symptom?

For me it has always been exhaustion (fatigue). I don't have the desire to sleep through the day, but I wake up exhausted as if I had already had a busy day, and I go to bed at night even more exhausted. It has been this way now for the past 33 years.

Rapamycin Pilot Treatment Trial for ME/CFS

When I look at the list of side-effects, I wonder how many of us could even tolerate this drug if we had the chance to try it?

If you had to guess ME/CFS cause, what'd you say?

For myself, I've always felt that it was the antibiotics that I was put on for a very bad tooth infection that caused my ME. Second guess would be the fact that I had a very bad cough and cold for six months until it was discovered that I had a very bad tooth infection that was stopping my...

Internal tremors and vibrations in long COVID: a cross-sectional study, 2023, Zhou, Iwasaki et al.

I have had the internal vibrations in my lower legs since having the first Moderna vaccine. After having the Pfizer vaccine the vibrations are much worse and I also get a burning sensation on the bottom of my feet. Neuropathy is one of the most reported long term adverse reactions to the covid...

Ocular and visual migraine, retinal migraine

I've gotten several migraine auras over the past two years since having the Pfizer covid vaccine. I don't think they are related to ME though. I just get the visual symptoms - never any headache.

    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

According to my doctor (who isn't an antivaxxer) it was a lie we were told that the covid vaccines would protect other people from transmission of the covid virus. You can be fully vaxxed and still pass the virus on. You can also be fully vaxxed and still get sick with covid.

    Covid-19 vaccination experiences

Thankfully, the gov't in British Columbia has seen sense and as of October 3, 2023 masks are once again mandatory in all hospitals, health care settings, and care homes. Plus there will be screeners asking whether or not people have any symptoms of being sick, and if yes, they will be denied access.

Anyone tried Zoe - a nutrition app?

If it's Tim Spector you mean, I found him to be really fascinating. I've seen him in the past on an American show about the gut microbiome and found his information really interesting. I recently read his book "Spoon Fed" and I'm waiting for his book "Food for Life" that I ordered from Amazon a...
