I thought it might be useful to collate this information in a thread.

Perhaps keep the discussion of the guideline group in general to another thread, such as
    https://www.s4me.info/threads/nice-...ideline-committee-has-now-been-published.6197

If people can link to where individuals said they were not accepted or other people posted information, it would give people more confidence in the information. But it's not compulsory.
    ---
It was suggested to me to add the names to the first post so I will do this now, but make no promises to keep it up-to-date:
    Abhijit Chaudhuri
    Joan Crawford
    Malcolm Hooper
    Caroline Kingdon
    Nina Muirhead
    Charles Shepherd
    Nigel Speight
    Sue Waddle
    Willie Weir
    Paul Worthley

A co-opted member of the full guideline group (i.e. doesn't have voting rights):
    Dr Charles Shepherd

Applied; not on the main guideline group but an expert witness for the committee:
    Jonathan Edwards
    Greg Crowhurst

    Update on November 8:
Dr William Weir has now been added to the main guideline development group

That is shocking. And sooo depressing.

Perhaps we could ask those listed to form a 'Not the NICE guidelines committee' to produce a NICER guideline.

Just thought we could try to add information whether the rejected people are NHS ME doctors or not.

    See @Jonathan Edwards' explanation:
Edit: This is neither a confirmation of JE's application nor of his rejection.

Joan Crawford has told me I can post that she applied but was not accepted. Here is a description for her:

Any information on why they were told they were not accepted or alternatively why they think they might have been accepted is interesting.

Things are actually more complicated Tom. I think it is worth waiting to see how things actually pan out.

Is it incorrect to say that you applied? Happy to delete your name if so.

I haven't been following the discussions on the threads, but I think it's interesting to collate who applied and was not accepted to help inform actions. I did read somewhere that although Dr Shepherd was turned down, there is still a chance he might be accepted.

Edited to add: if you agree with the reasoning given to exclude you and/or somebody else, that may be interesting, but it's not grounds to correct the post. Similarly if you think people shouldn't be complaining about who is or isn't on the panel at this time, that's interesting, but it's not grounds to correct the post.

Somebody had told me that @Jonathan Edwards had been turned down. So I took that at face value. As there seems to be some doubt, I have deleted the name to maintain the integrity of the list.

Would be a good idea to ask people if they are ok being mentioned on the list.

What grounds could there be for not employing dr chaudhuri, nhs, years of experience and neurologist

I know he does private practice work as well. I don't know whether that would be considered sufficient grounds to exclude him?

I think what happened with Jonathan Edwards is that it was known he applied. And then when it was announced there were only 3 positions left and he would not satisfy the specific criteria mentioned for any of these [community paediatric nurse, specialist adult nurse and dietician], so it was interpreted as being turned down while unlike with some cases, a specific letter turning application down hadn't been received.

Anyway as I mentioned above I would encourage people to ideally link to any sources they have of any names they mention.

Well that’s pretty rubbish as many nhs drs do both. Plus dr c works private in Glasgow isnt it, where he lost his nhs ME post as they wanted to replace it with a CBT for mild CFS clinic.
