Blog Africa Clockwise: M.E. Too or Why I am No Longer NOT Speaking to Doctors about Chronic Illness

That is a really excellent article. I hope she can get it published.
Totally agree. An excellent and wide-ranging piece by a writer who's been ill for more than 25 years. Thoughtful and well written.
Very long but can easily be read in sections due to its structure:
  • A brief snapshot of the writer's life at a given time.
  • A brief description of an encounter, at that same time, with a doctor (mostly negative).
  • A section of general information on a particular aspect of ME.
Repeat above three sections. Many times.

Lots of links to other ME bloggers and relevant sites.
There's even a rare glimpse of an African perspective on the illness (albeit mostly question marks).

"I dream of public resting places Cloud-Spotter Cafés, with chaises longues for people with chronic illness or chronic pain. Where we could lie down without shame and use the saved energy to squabble . . . " right on.

Very well written article. I can relate to a lot of it.
