Vaccines prevent disease, while some of the ingredients can be cleaned up the benefits far, far outweigh the risks.
Pollution is well researched, not to say we fully understand it. That said there are excellent options available but the public has to want to deal with pollution or it will not work, those who want to deregulate so more Flint lead crises and river catching on fire and cars and power plants and mining can pollute while lying about it means voters who beg for these things at the ballot are the problem (about half of voters).
Pesticides are defended by companies with deep pockets that prevent research being done and spend money to fight facts that may harm their profits.
These are not failures of of scientific knowledge, they are failures of the public to look for the truth over alternative facts.

I read that but I wonder how long it will be before any such testing will be readily available through our doctors?

Indeed, i would like to see this pursued because its easier to prevent damage then fix it afterwards and this could save a lot of lives if definitively proven

If a large database to capture these data points, I feel we could start to make sense out of things.

    I glanced at your link
So this is a good start but only a start. If your going to take Ibuprofen to prevent Alzheimers then your doing an experiment on yourself, one with unknown long term risks that has not been studied or proven.

These things don't need a large database, but for drugs it is what i was getting at.

I would be more concerned about the accuracy of the test.

It’s a combo of genetics, environmental exposure, along with a drug in question, along with history of all drugs taken. I feel there is a footprint left behind from choices we consent to, and/or have no control over.

Alvin, a lot of people already take Ibuprofen long term for conditions such as arthritis pain. I would think that if there were going to be long term risks, we would know about them by now.

There are plenty of long term side effects of ibuprofen - as with every drug people have to decide for themselves whether the benefits outweigh the potential risks.

We already know that long term use increases the risk of a heart attack, stroke, and ulcers, which may cause death. Consumers erroneously assume just because a drug can be purchased over the counter, that it is safe. Like any drug, it’s important to follow up with your doctor, so you can be monitored for any possible side effects. Also you need to tell your doctor what other drugs you are taking (listed below), to discuss potential side effects from drug interactions.

Ibuprofen sales must be low nowadays.:bored:

Daily Ibuprofen will give you an ulcer in your stomach or/ and intestines. I don't think it'll prevent Alzheimer's.

I Agree. There are other scientific studies researching Alzheimer’s, that need to continue. IMO prescribing Ibuprofen as a treatment for Alzheimer’s, is the equivalent of CBT/GET for ME. It’s a cop out, and both have potential dangerous side effects.

Way too much COI for my taste! 100% of the study authors are tied to Aurin Biotech! (Same company that touts the development of the simple saliva test, they claim, can diagnose Alzheimer’s disease, as well as predict its future onset).
