Do you have problems focusing your eyes? What do we think it means in terms of ME/CFS?

Anyone have issues with eye drops.
My daughter also has dry eyes but eye drops are difficult - they struggle to be absorbed .
She can put them in , close her eyes ( including bring at a low angle) and they simply fall out.
Leaving eyes open , the drops " fall out" .

Optician was not happy with the quality of her tears but so far eye drops have proved difficult to administer .

For me the ME thing links it, due to being at very random times. You might expect it after a day at work, exerting, reading a screen, of course eyes would be dry and tired by then.
So why does it happen in the morning?
Exactly like why can I hold a cup all day long, but sometimes in the middle of the day I drop it? But not in the evening?

There’s got to be signalling problems with the muscles.
I’ll be honest I think I might be lying on the it coming later because I’ve never really read a fiction book as an adult - but then how much of that is envelope and what I had that I could choose to use it for. Books like that need picking up consistently vs non fiction you can read a random chapter on a plane and not another on for months and no issue but that’s not how fiction works.

I was a good reader according to grades but surprisingly slow vs a class of people who were from a selective school by senior school just by if we got set a bit to read in English and seeing others heads go up and still way off.

I was fortunate a heavy reading job I could print it out and it was quite methodical and I could time when I did that with more flexibility than most other jobs so could wait til I was in the zone for it.

At some point I got to the stage where I know if handed a form on a visit when I’m just not well enough to even start to try and read it in front of that person so it’s not purely screen stuff.

I agree with @Kitty on the listening side of things where I’m a lot better at hearing if I can see the person. When I watch tv I prefer having subtitles and often rotate between closing eyes and ears as I get tired and have to do a lot of rewinding - I absolutely HATE the trend which I guess came from social media vids and USA for people speaking at a specific over fast pace deliberately - noticeable from younger guests on politics programmes and find it really exhausting and discriminatory and I know it’s not me ‘as an old person’ but actual someone with power basically trying to speed up the norms of the human race type thing as if it increases productivity but it just takes out all the pause for emphasis and gentleness of some voices etc

So there’s something processing wise interacting

I can’t handle speech which has the qualities of “a wall of text” no pauses (commas) or gaps (full stops) let alone a gear change rest (paragraph). It happens with call centre type jobs, the person seems to think they must fill all space with talking. I’ve actually started saying I’m autistic which seems to shock them into silence!

But that’s a different sensory issue than my eyes just losing focus for a few minutes. And that’s happens whilst out in nature or at a screen, it’s not the “ordinary fatigue” type of thing.
