Just to update on this, I have been off medication for over 3 months and my blood pressure is back to normal. No thanks to the NHS.

Did you do anything special to help it reduce?

I don't know about special but I did everything and anything I could, which probably helped but given my BP was around 167/114 in April and is now around 116/76 I think there were a number of other things 'going on' that were aggravating the issue and causing the 'secondary hypertension'.

the one thing I didn't do or need to do was lose weight as I'm actually underweight and have been trying to put weight on, but this is now impacting on my cholesterol!

One other n=1 observation. I was on a CCB (Amlodipine) and one of the things( that I have only now realised was because of the meds), was getting really tired/sleepy (barely able to keep my eyes open) ie NOT ME 'fatigue'.
Apparently a common side effect of BP medication.
