Has anyone looked at family history and incidence of other neurological conditions?

Has anyone looked at family history and incidence of other neurological conditions in people with ME/CFS? Are people more likely to have family members with PD or other conditions? Would this even be useful given we’re now getting direct genetic data?

This study by Jason found that people with ME/CFS had a much higher rate of family members with ME/CFS.

But they also found high rates of ME/CFS in the controls compared to the population average: 3.9 %.

I've done a lot of family history on behalf of my late mam. The only consistent patterns are a tendency to tallness, blue eyes, red or blonde hair, and living well into old age.

I did have a couple of second degree relatives with ME/CFS, but no neurological disease. None have been severely affected by ME/CFS, and one made a good recovery after about three years.

My maternal grandmother had Parkinson's.

I’m the only one with ME. My grandfather had Parkinson’s, and there are a lot of people on both sides with clear ADHD and autistic traits but almost all undiagnosed.

Did you mean this as a question about research, or asking us to share out personal family histories?

Maybe it would be useful to split off a members only thread for personal stories, and have a public one for research, if there is say.

I think direct genetic data are more likely to be useful.
Personal stories from a few out of 4000 potential members is not going to tell us anything.

Yes I meant actual research not personal stories, sorry if that wasn’t clear.. I remember people had looked at family history and me/cfs itself but wondered if anyone had looked at the data of other conditions.
