Iron dysregulation and inflammatory stress erythropoiesis associates with long-term outcome of COVID-19, 2024, Hanson et al

I cooked with cast iron pots and ate liver x2/week for years but it never increased my ferritin. It took 10 months of iron/vitamin C capsules to increase from 5 to 50. When I stopped taking iron, my levels went straight back down within 3 months.
Did you feel better at all when it was at 50?

Yes! My functional/integrative doctor said that he wanted all his pts levels to be at a minimum of 60. My ME fatigue was different form low ferritin, I couldn't climb 2 steps without feeling out of breath and dizzy. After increasing my ferritin I could walk and climb stairs without feeling breathless. My mood improved too.

My ME symptoms have never been severe except for delayed PEM, which is always severe.
