Malic acid supplement, sumac

[Edit: @MeSci perhaps this will be helpful for you—maybe the trick to avoiding the brain fog side effect is taking sumac right before you’re going to be on your feet/physically active]
Thanks, @jnmaciuch, but I think the brain fog wasn't so much a side-effect as - well - 'normal'.

I usually take it about an hour before activity, and I don't do it very often at the moment.

I get energy from apple but not any apple just the yellow apple
And I think that this effect (just I think) I start getting it after supplementing acetyl l Carnitine
So I think acetyl + yellow apple
If it just malic acid why I don't get energy from other apple or from acid vinegar
I need to try sumac
I search a lot in reddit found others get energy from apple , someone get energy from combining picans and apples and he get no energy if trying any one of them only
, last thing about dopamine medications I have vere severe cfs 0 energy and severe muscle weakness and fatigue taking low dose quetiapine will get red of the muscle weakness and fatigue and a lot of nervous system symptoms
Like abiliy to tolerate heat
And reduce my light and sound sensitivity
In the other hand abilify affect me more mentally less physically

People are trying this in tablet form (eg Source naturals brand) rather than powder form right?

This is the tablet brand I took over 25 years ago that might have helped me at the time. It didn't last, but for 6 weeks I almost felt normal.

to add
I took this supplement during my PVFS stage. I wasn't experiencing delayed PEM during that time period of time.

I’ve gotten some follow up from two of the people who contacted me saying the sumac/malic acid worked for them—they are continuing to experience consistent positive effects ~3 months out. One of them is on ADHD stimulants, the other is not (and is the only non-stimulant responder so far).

I’m still experiencing the same effect too, no apparent changes in my response to the same dosages.

I have not received any more private messages from anybody who has tried it.

As I suspected, the local place is taking forever to ship which means they're coming from the USA first... It was a similar price than ordering direct so...
I'm in Australia and I got malic acid in powder form from a home brew company selling it on eBay. very cheap compared to tablets albeit with a delivery fee. I got 200g for $18 or so.

This might sound weird but I absolutely love it. I add a pinch, maybe a quarter of a gram ,to 500mL of water along with some salt (salt water for POTS) and it is delicious. I've added it to food as well. Obviously this is not a blinded experiment and i'm not sure i'm even taking it for any medicinal properties any more, I just love that sour kick. Although one theory is our bodies crave what they lack so maybe there's something there?!

That’s fascinating! I have noticed that I start craving that sumac taste when I haven’t taken my tablet in a while.

Do you get a craving for acidicity from citrus fruits too or is it just malic acid?

I crave sumac so I've certainly wondered about that too.

I really enjoy a sour orange but not so much a sweet orange. I've always had a fondness for lemon-flavoured cakes and tarts and gelati. I like green apples too, but I can't isolate a deitary fondness for malic acid !
