Noise cancelling headphones! Oh Joy! (and other ways to block sound)

With the earplugs I get 10-11 hours of good sleep. Without them, my sleep is very fragmented and I end up wide awake after 7-9h.
Intriguing, now I will have to try that for myself.
I wonder, however, if there were also other effects at play.
The heatwave for example?

I'm not aware of anything but I can't guarantee. It could coincide with a spontaneous or illness-related fluctuation of sleep quality.

I ordered them on the 10 May and tried wearing them during the night before/in between the heatwaves on multiple occasions and different patterns, like one night on or a few nights in a row followed by the nights without them. I don't really like the idea of getting dependant on a product like that for sleep as it's going to be a nightmare to quit the habit but I think I need it at the moment... as long as it lasts.

Thanks for the additional details.
I‘m going to try it myself and will report back. I‘d love to get more sleep!

I didn't realise minor sounds were affecting my sleep so much.
It’s fascinating to me how you didn’t expect noise to have such an effect on your sleep.
This disease feels so contra-intuitive to me at times, it’s almost comical.
Reminds me of when I first heard of the idea that shower noises could be part of what makes showering so exhausting.
I‘m using the max lite‘s ever since and wouldn’t want to shower without them anymore.

I bought them based on the forum recommendations and they've transformed my sleep although I bought them to use primarily during the day and sometimes during the night (if the windows are open).

I’m so glad you found them useful. There might be even better options out there, but I think these beat any of the generic stuff so they are worth a try for most.

Nothing I've tried was as soft as these ones and I don't seem to get along with firmer ones any more. I also need to wear them for much longer and more often than when I was healthy which might be playing a role, too.

Thank you again for the recommendation!
