Relaxing music for sleep

The only thing I can ever do with wired-but-tired is sit up and use up some of the brain energy. Recorded music for that is anything with a strong beat.

I couldn't sleep while listening to music though—I can't not pay attention to it. It'd be like trying to fall asleep when there's a horse in your bedroom.

There is some music for sleep on the Insight Timer app.
My sensory issues make music not something I’d want to sleep to but I think I’ve seen all sorts of brain wave sleep inducer type tracks you might find something useful.

Much of it is free. It’s a meditation app so just ignore & skip anything else you don’t want

I’m with @Trish and @Mij on preferring audiobooks to music when trying to fall asleep. Something with a pleasant voice is important. Often I find myself zoning out, and I don’t end up following the story. I also do this with podcasts but it can be trickier to find one where a commercial or music isn’t going to interrupt the voices and wake me up.

If I wake during the night and struggle to get back to sleep , I tune in to BBC Radio 3 's sleeping forecast
which is a mix of classical music ( some are breakthrough artists) intertwined with excerpts from the shipping forecast

It usually works - an episode link below
