The Unraveling is a self-funded advocacy documentary on Long Covid, still in production. This is a preview abstract, 16 minutes, featuring Dr Ziyad Al-Aly, and testimonies from a young girl with LC and her father.

Most of the discussion will be very familiar. Medicine's continuing inability to work with concepts like PEM and its impact is a disgrace. This is simple enough that a child can, and in fact does, explain it. But tens of millions of highly educated professionals can't, and prefer to dismiss what they don't understand.

Well I feel for them, as a video it is nicely shot and edited, credit to Grant Wakefield. Tells Rosie's story respectfully, as well as her father's and having had ME CFIDS for 38 years now, I feel for them both.

Dr Ziyad Al-Aly was very knowledgeable, realistic and interesting, especially on the way SARS-cov-2 sticks to the endothelium, which you would expect given its spike affinity for ACEII receptors, which matches observations of my battles with post covid migraine related to vasoconstriction.

Though interestingly a suspected recurring RSV infection seems to be out reproducing whatever elements of SARS-cov-2 was causing this and now I have a different set of symptoms, in a cycle of sneezing, running nose, asthma and heart arrhythmia. This has reduced the headaches but not banished them. I am guessing that suspected RSV is causing URT infection and stimulating defences which mop up the SARS-cov-2 before it begins to produce symptoms, which has been the story of my life for 38 years, one recurring virus after another.

The heartbreaking thing about it is noone who was there to help me in such a crisis in 1986 had a clue how to do that or even what was happening to me and that is still the problem nearly 40 years later.

My feeling from watching this is the least we can do is try to make sure people get recognition, support and the right advice while we are trying to understand what is going on and find cures.
