Tymes Trust - No reported harassment of staff at Bristol University

A thought: If a parent of a sick child sent Dr. Crawley an angry letter, I don't think she would be able to use it, not without revealing that the people that are angry at her are her own patients and their families. I think she is building her narrative on the blueprint set out by Simon Wessely - that is "my own patients love me, it is these other crazies out there that are harassing me."

I wouldn't be surprised if she got angry letters from parents of her patients (I was tempted but didn't - I did tell a social worker as a passing comment that I thought she represented a danger to children by pushing GET and activity based therapy). But given the child protection issues are comment when dealing with children with ME I think quite a lot of parents are very careful and do their best to manage doctors.

Yes, and she seems to really believe it. Not helped by the fact that she has been supported by AYME and AfME.

In her inaugural speech (Feb 24th 2017)

she says she Gets given flowers from AYME on behalf of every single child she's treated in clinic and done research for.

Don't know if AfME are keeping up the practice:emoji_bouquet:

Love the derogatory way they talk about Wessely.

Interesting bit around 25 mins in about
"social model of understanding disability has given way to an extreme behaviouralist approach that is both inappropriate and life threatening";

There is a letter up on screen will try and screen shot it later to read.

The presenter believes that the change in attitude towards sick and disabled people is by design and says they will be covering the issue in more detail.

This publication/channel could be a useful ally.

It's had 626 views so far on You Tube. So not exactly mainstream, but every little helps. Seems to be run by volunteers who started because of a local political problem in Plymouth. Now they are taking on the whole UK!
