UK Biobank doing an Ask Me Anything thread this Thursday, pre-event thread.

We had a Biobank Steering Committee meeting today. A number of the above questions came up and others have been discussed in the past. If anyone misses the chance to get questions answered live I can respond, if necessary having checked details with the team.

The appeal fund is up to £11,000. £15,000 by Christmas would be a big boost for the team and help to secure support from other sources. Nothing succeeds like success, as they say.

So @Andy, how will the event actually work? Have you given the questions on this thread to the team, or will we need to post them 'live' at 2:30 pm? Or is there some other format?

I'll open it 15 mins before the official start, I didn't want the thread to be knee deep in questions before the Biobank team are able to start answering them. And yes, preferably people will transfer any question that they may have put here over to the other thread. Not an ideal way of doing it but I had to work with the format of the forum.

Can you transfer the questions over? Some people are probably in the wrong time zone to do it themselves.

 

I'll keep an eye on it and transfer any un-asked ones over. Didn't want to swamp the team with questions to begin with.

 

I just moved my long and rambling one over before seeing how this was worknig, that should keep them going for a while!

 

I believe that I've moved all the questions over of those who aren't here to ask themselves now.
