UK petition for teacher education

Peter T

Senior Member (Voting Rights)
A young woman with ME has started UK Parliamentary petition seeking training in relation to ME for teachers:
Staff training and mandatory support plan for school students with M.E.
I have had the “invisible illness” Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E/CFS) for nearly 3 years, it has affected my life massively from losing who I was, hobbies and my EDUCATION. I have missed a massive amount of education due to schools not accommodating my needs and lack of understanding and training.

Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) is characterised by a range of neurological symptoms and signs, muscle pain with intense physical or mental exhaustion, relapses, and specific cognitive disabilities.

M.E effects 250,000 people in the UK and 30,000,000 worldwide.
M.E is one of the main causes of long term school absences in the UK.

It can be signed by any UK resident or UK citizens including those living overseas.

Though this petition could be more clearly specified I think it is important to support young people with ME actively involved in campaigning. Certainly action needs taking to meet the needs of young people with ME in education.

So people able to sign the petition please consider it.

Being a parliamentary petition, and having to give your name and postcode, I assume it does an automated check against the electoral register. Maybe sometimes it doesn't quite match.
