I have written to my MP asking him to sign (with link) and to contact Carol Monaghan to express his interest in this issue.
Also said that a priority this year will be to get NICE to withdraw CBT and GET now. He signed the petition for that but there may well be additional work this summer...
Yes. Ron Davis has put out a call this week for regular monthly donations to OMF to increase reliable regular funding.
In the past we have donated substantially to AfME only to become better informed and regret it.
Don't want to be bitten twice. It's difficult in UK unless it's ring fenced for...
@Dx Revision Watch -Are you able to tell us @Charles Shepherd/ MEA's position on this? Is this a Cof M(chair) decision or that of the committee?

Thanks to @Robert 1973. Apologies for not mentioning your song. Have been listening to it and posting about it for a little while now. Works really well including the visual aspect. Hope it is sung at #millions missing.
Loved it. Interview with Jen Brea went deeper than usual clips. @Hutan's quote above is an example. It is hard to face all that we have lost and I felt very emotional.
Was interested in her statement that they are showing 'Unrest' in med schools in US this year, and have plans for doing the same...
FWIW- I had 2 individual doses of ECT in the 60s. I was 17. I had no memory loss: took my A levels 6 months later and achieved v good grades, straight to uni. No further psych treatment other than GP antidepressants.
My mother had ECT when she was 80 as an inpatient. It relieved her of a...

Interesting reply. I had not seen that 2012 letter defending Simon Wessely (in your link) before.
My opinion of Holgate remains the same.
I look forward to seeing what Chris Ponting can achieve. It would be wonderful if the CMRC came into play and benefitted patients. Watching...
SimonM
Chris is suggesting there is currently rather more to it than that
@Simon M .Are you able to help in elucidating what this might be? I have always been concerned at what I have seen of Holgate's behaviour, his support of Crawley, treatment of Geraghty etc.
I am prepared to see Chris...
I've had a pulmonary angiogram, if that helps. NHS UK. (It is like the ct angiogram described in the link)
I had to undress and put on a hospital gown. A nurse asked me several questions in particular whether I had had a procedure where a contrast dye had been used. I hadn't. Very rarely there...
Threads merged
ReMEmber has its annual conference in Burgess Hill on the above date (12th May), unfortunately coinciding with #millions missing.
Speakers are Dr Bansal who will talk about Julia Newton's research, and Dr Shepherd...
The one at the beginning of this thread is from March this year, to accompany a viewing of ' unrest'.
The information in the other one seems to be, as @Barry says, from 2015.
As far as I understand I think Prof Davis is looking for a biomarker for ME/ cfs. The closest he has got is by examining pwme red blood cells which do not deform in the same way as non patients. All the cases he has tested ( not very many, both patients and non patients) show this consistent...
My O2 score is pretty much always low.
This would fit with full oxygen not being picked up, along with many other conditions.
Wonder what the O2 level is of those few pwme whose blood Ron has studied.
There's a thread somewhere that discusses the deformability of red blood cells and GWI.(posted below)
If I have this right, Ron Davis' (with San Jose Univ) research shows the red blood cells do not deform as necessary to fit along narrow capillaries so that full oxygen is not being picked up...
No information given but they hoped to have an answer about one thread by the end of the summer. Towards the end of the clip if you want to check it.
'There may be ways to manipulate people out of the circuit: they are looking at one primary circuit which they hope to have an answer to by the...
