UK House of Lords/ House of Commons Questions

I think I can answer those questions... 1. None of my business, it wasn't me wot did it, no plans to alter anything anyway. We might look again in 10 years time. 2. We don't keep those figures. 3. We don't keep those figures.

NICE Annual Conference 2019: "Transforming care"

I mixed Hammond up with Goldacre (brain fog), so we just had a nice blast of Fox. It's a very expensive thing to attend as a patient - £150! I just feel that's more than I can afford to pay (even assuming my Carer gets in free to push my wheelchair).

"This is M.E." booklet by Action for ME - Feedback survey

Well I'm heading for a "Boom and Bust" day today... I'm planning to have a shower! Here at the caravan we have a shower cubicle with nice low access, and I have a shower stool. Afterwards I'll wrap in towels and sit back in bed while doing the face creaming thing then drag a comb...

Action for M.E. hosts DWP spotlight training

OH just commented that if Gwyneth Paltrow (Goop) got ME she'd join AfME rather than MEA.

Action for M.E. hosts DWP spotlight training

I just watched this heap of s**t. Basically it's unwatchable with the bloody carp (anagram) background music going on. I was constantly distracted by that music, it was TOO LOUD and I couldn't take in the talk stuff. Though what I saw of the talk stuff it wasn't worth listening to anyway...

"This is M.E." booklet by Action for ME - Feedback survey

Might be worth noting the questions and sending an email to yourself with your replies on it, then just copy and paste. Though having a timeout for ME patients is really bad. Most aren't fast at answering, due to brain fog. Might be worth phoning and complaining? I'll try and have a...

Action for M.E. hosts DWP spotlight training

Thank you @JemPD for expressing in your post most/all of things that make me ANGRY with AfME. How dare they pretend to be on our (patients) side. They appear to be a load of self serving government boot lickers.

Action for M.E. hosts DWP spotlight training

I was going to write a post here, but I'm so angry I don't think it's a good idea.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Thank you to those of you who are able to keep their rage at bay sufficiently to make reasoned and reasonable posts. Perhaps tomorrow I'll be in a fitter...

Charles Darwin’s ailments are ‘typical of Lyme disease’ in UK - The Guardian

Wikipedia has a reasonable page on Darwin's health, though I admit I've only scanned it briefly. Poor Darwin, he really did have a bad time of it! :emoji_cry: There's an interesting list of the possible ailments that have been suggested as causes for Darwin's ill health. @Forbin, I found a...

FOI request re PACE Cost-Effectiveness Analysis

And how independent will this Independent Review Panel be? Will they allow people like Tuller and Geraghty to get access? I really don't see them letting @dave30th have access - would be too embarrassing for certain people. Of course I hope I'm proved wrong. It will certainly be interesting...

Katie Boulter exclusive interview: 'I got to the point where I was pretty much doing nothing during the day'

I hate these type of articles. Make out we're just wimps because we can't get ourselves back to normal even if we're "helped" by CBT etc etc. In my extremely irritated opinion it's just another case of over training on top of an initial infection, but athletes always get covered by the press.

Retraction Watch: Journals are failing to address duplication in the literature, says a new study

Yes! I did a work placement years ago with HSE, one of the things I was looking at was ME/CFS. I was shocked at the number of papers published by some of the names we know well that basically just re-worked data they'd used in previous papers. And it certainly has an effect on such as Cochrane...
