Concerned troll is very concerned. Simple rule of the internet, do not feed the trolls. It's what they want. You can never win, so why waste time with such bad faith people?

UK Parliamentary debate today - Thursday 24th January 2019

While I understand and sympathise with people wanting more, I'll chip in with an observation. Part of the basic political philosophy of conservatism is that even if things are bad, it is often worse to try to change things because they feel there is a high potential of making things worse. If...

Blog: Changing the narrative #1: exploring a new approach to strategic communications in the ME community, by Valerie Eliot Smith

I'm against the idea, principle or strategy of needing a group of people to show perfect innocence in relation to their justified demands to be treated the same as another group of people. For two reasons. There is no such thing as the perfect innocence of a group. It doesn't work. I also...

Blog: Changing the narrative #1: exploring a new approach to strategic communications in the ME community, by Valerie Eliot Smith

Here's a diagram for understanding power. It might be useful to people or not. My personal view is that we've already made the breakthrough to the First and Second Dimensions. The trouble with activism is usually getting out of the Third. The diagram was useful to me for analysing the debate...

Cool. I didn't understand that only perspectives that have already been aired in the thread can be argued against. Won't do it again. I'm well aware that the dog paper was published. It's almost like I wasn't arguing that that was the serious scientific work I was talking about. I'll go back...

Action for M.E. hosts DWP spotlight training

My impression of SEE M.E is that it was an advertisement to the DWP and contractors. The main people involved all seem to be biased towards the DWP philosophy of the work cure.

Public Why don't we have more UK whistleblowers? A possible answer.

The details of what he was whistleblowing are at the bottom of this post. http://54000doctors.org/blogs/unanimous-dr-c-day.html It seems his concerns were well founded.

    The Grievance Studies

Steven Pinker also thinks that women penetrated without their consent are not victims of sexual assault, so I don't really care for his ethical views. Somebody should tell Richard that they can't claim it is serious scientific work, while at the same time it is satire of a 'creative...

Public Why don't we have more UK whistleblowers? A possible answer.

People often wonder why we don't have many whistleblowers who come forward about bad treatments and practices in the UK. Here's what recently happened to a Dr who did try to whistleblow. He got threatened with an unpayable legal bill if he did not win his case...

    The Grievance Studies

I see that there was no control group for the experiment. Such science! They say it discredits Sociology despite all the journals rejecting their papers? They could only get the papers published in low impact journals. They faked quanitative data in order to get papers published? 75% of their...

    The Grievance Studies

It's good that cultural hegemony doesn't exist or we would have been struggling against a philosophy of our illness and things like MUS that are the dominant and accepted common sense of the powerful. In no way have these social constructs been imposed, and there has been no narrative that we...

    Machine learning and dementia subtypes.

The machine learning is just a fancy way of finding patterns right? So, it's only going to detect patterns in the data that are already in the data? I ask, because I read something about this approach in policing, and all it seemed to do was amplify the bias that was in the data from the start...

ME charity income versus other illness charities in the UK

Most of the charities listed in the first post have income fromm charity shops and the like. They can raise money without anyone particularly caring about the disability. This gives them a massive advantage. They can use this income to create extra income.
