David Tuller's new crowdfunding campaign (April 1, 2018)

It's also a shame that, so far, more donors can't be found. I totally appreciate that it's early days but so far only 188 people have donated. I wonder if people are that aware that they can donate just $10 (approx £7.11 or €8.11) - if we could find 7,500 people to do that, it could be completely funded already.

I agree, but I feel like it's overstating how many people are even aware of the importance of the work here. ME patients that are on forums and social media tend to be very loud, but it's still a fundamentally fairly small community. I hope there are some big donations in the wings, often seems the case with some families/people in the US.

The official fund raising campaign only started yesterday. I'm surprised so many people have donated already. Some won't have heard about it yet, and others may be waiting for payday, or holding back to see how much is still needed later in the month. I'm delighted so much has come in already.

I also have a concern that recent changes mean that many of those who most understand and appreciate the importance of Tuller's work are now less visible to those with a more casual interest. At the same time, a lot has happened over the last year to draw attention to the problems with PACE and the harm it has done. Fingers crossed it will all go well.

Yes, officially only day 2.
But, even if I am biased, I would strongly recommend putting David at the top of the agenda here. The knock on effect from his work will be crucial to everything that comes next. A perfect cause for Easter Monday!
Yes, I fully agree with this. I suspect that quite few of the very positive things we've seen this last year, might well not have happened were it not for @dave30th and those supporting him.

Thanks for all the support, folks! I think it's in the nature of these things for donations to wax and wane. I specifically asked for the default lowest donation to be changed from $25 to $10, like I did last year, because I know many people want to give but are living on very little and $10 is all they can afford. Even though it's possible to write in any amount, I really wanted to avoid putting anyone in the position of feeling uncomfortable with having to write in $10 and then feel bad they weren't giving $25. The big donations are of course wonderful but I find the smallest donations to be incredibly moving, and they make me even more determined to push on for those people who are forced to live on next to nothing. I'm pretty sure it will end up ok. I'm assuming some people will pay more attention after the holiday weekend.

I haven't donated yet, but will in the next few days. Depending on how long donations are open for I will try and donate each fortnight a small amount.
